The Stylish Traveler: Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez

posted by in Style

“Ready for Adventure” – Style meets sensible as Stephanie loves the great outdoors and would never say no to a good hike! At the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa and braving extreme weather changes on Kangaroo Island, Australia

At The Gypsetters Net we believe that traveling in style is of absolute importance. We are not of the bunch that are fine with track suits and unkempt hair on a long haul flight or wearing flip flops and a t-shirt anywhere else except on a gorgeous sandy beach. For us, traveling in style is not about fashion or trends but about giving importance to the privilege of travel. The privilege of being able to explore exotic nature, to immerse in different cultures, to encounter amazing people… to simply discover the world. Whether it may be a short overnighter or a lengthy sojourn, each moment has potential to be the most magnificent one ever… And that merits sartorial conscientiousness.

In that light we are happy to announce a new series on The Gypsetters Net called The Stylish Traveler where we feature all kinds of travelers – whether for business, pleasure or a perpetual wanderluster – how they pack, where they pack for and their trusty suitcase to fit it all in.

The first in our series in the stunning Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez of Philux Inc., who along with her husband is a serious travel junkie. From Kangaroo Island in Australia to chic, colonial tent lodges in South Africa to Skiing in Chamonix and hang gliding in Rio, this girl is a true-blue globetrotter and always manages to do it impeccably dressed.

"Girl From Ipanema" - Fun vibrant prints anchored by breezy white solids is the perfect combination to samba around the streets of this brazilian metropolis. Stephanie is pictured on Ipanema beach and Escadaria Selaron in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Gypsetters Net: Name 3 packing essentials.

Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez: A light jacket or blazer, SPF moisturizer, and my cellphone or SLR camera to capture special moments.

TGN: Are you a “less is more or more is more” kind of packer?

Stephanie: I would love to bring many things and outfit changes, however I try to curate them well to make the traveling more efficient.

“Out of Africa” – Olive greens and neutrals that echo the endless savannah landscapes dotted with baobab trees. Stephanie lounging at the Sabi Sands Reserve and enjoying the stunning view at Capetown, South Africa

TGN: When you travel are you more of a “do as the romans do” or do you carry on with your “signature look” ?

Stephanie: I do not have a signature look as I try to dress the best I can for the climate, location and occasion. I also make sure to pack along one or two dressier outfits in the event a special evening arises!

“Parisian Elegance” – There is no trip to Paris without “le trench” that protect “les parigos” from their incredibly fickle weather. Cognac leather is also the parisian’s best friend as it is the only thing that can transcend the brown/black existential debate. Photographed wandering the streets and visiting La Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, France

TGN: What is your suitcase?

Stephanie: A Rimowa, which is sturdy and handy as my daughter loves to sit on it while I wheel her around the airport. I also recommend a small cross body bag for trips where there is a lot of walking.

“Ethnic Chic” – A touch of tribal for cocktail hour in Capetown, South Africa

TGN: Name one item you can’t live without and always have with you when you travel.

Stephanie: I have just discovered the amazing NUXE lip balm… though the real answer is… MY FAMILY!

“Ski Bunny” – Stephanie is not afraid to go full on sports gear when the occasion calls for it. With her husband on a ski trip in La Thuile, Italy and in Chamonix, France with her daughter Andrea

We are two friends who were former magazine editors. Having moved onto other things, we both realized that the creative flow the publishing world used to offer us was missing from our lives. Armed with a common love of travel to the exotic and familiar, a penchant for the bohemian, an obsession with food and a lust for writing, we decided to collaborate our unique and fashionable journeys through life together in one passion project.
