Au Courant: A Summer Travel Trunk Show

There is no doubt about it, I love to shop. I love to shop for unique brands that no one else has heard of; for the quiet pieces from well-known labels; for the everyday items that pepper my closet. But what I love buying the most are the beautiful items that make me feel super happy when I wear them.
Truth be told, ask me to create a design of my own and I simply can’t – I’m the type of shopper that wants to see the finished product straight away and be an admirer of someone else’s talent. For shoppers like me, there’s the biannual event Au Courant.
Hosted by the uber talented founders of Cura V (Trisha Calma, Emi Jorge, Kai Lim, Camille Ongpauco and Nicole Whisenhunt) Au Courant is a highly anticipated shopping event featuring the best and the brightest designers in fashion and home accessories in the Philippines. There is nowhere else you can find such a well-curated, eclectic bazaar of beautiful, artistic pieces.

Entitled Au Courant Summer Travel Trunk Show, this summer’s show is an ode to travel, which we Gypsetters absolutely adore. Aside from the usual gorgeous works of jewelry, bag and fashion designers such as Emi Jorge, Nicole Whisenhunt, Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez, Fahlux and Maureen Disini, there are new sought-after designers and artists. Want more than fashion? Check out the art by Archivo 1984, furniture by Phoenix, Planet Studio’s antique treasures from around the globe, contemporary collectibles by Secret Fresh and handmade toys by Cathy Cantada-Dizon.

I highly suggest you visit them on May 10-11, 2014 at the Kirov Model Unit in Rockwell, Makati. Shop intoxicated with cocktails by Rambla and don’t forget to bring your credit cards and checkbooks. Those who are trying to stick to their budgets are best to stay away. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
