Tropical Dreams

I’m a sucker for tropicalia, I suppose it’s the island girl in me. When I saw this on Amina Aranaz-Alunan’s Instagram feed I immediately was awash with wanderlust all over again. I would love to take this ARANÁZ silk charmeuse eye mask and travel pillow with me on a long haul flight to an exotic destination. Right now I’m dreaming of the Caribbean with the metallic sounds of a steel drum band mingling with the sound of the waves and rustling palm trees.
The kitschy and graphic print reminds me of the glamour of the 1960’s – Barbados with it’s beautiful colonial buildings and retro appeal. I’d love to rent a luxury villa and throw a fabulous pool party to rival that of Peter Seller’s – The Party. One so spectacular that would have James Bond gate crashing and ending up shirtless in the pool.

The stunning Rose of Sharon Villa for rent in Barbados. I can see my guests in linen and bright tunics starting with champagne on the veranda before sunset then dancing with a cocktail in hand till the wee hours of the morning. Why not have a few vintage drunken lawn games like limbo and the coconut dance to get things extra lively!
Then sleep till past noon and wake up with a glorious view of palm trees and the promise of luxuriously doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the day….
