What is a Gypsetter?

A compound word made from gypsy and jet-setter dedicated to people who have a bohemian soul with worldly sensibilities. For us it’s about embracing global culture and travel in our daily lives, reminding ourselves that the world does not revolve around us, but it is us who must roam the world – whether physically, mentally or spiritually. The Gypsetter does not see the world as an outsider looking in but rather is always right in the middle of things. Getting lost in side streets, indulging in local delicacies and melting into infinite moments.

As per the Urban Dictionary “Fusing the ease and carefree lifestyle of a gypsy with the sophistication of the jet set, the Gypsetters are artists, surfers, designers, and bons vivants who live and work around the globe, from Uruguay and Ibiza, to Montauk, New York. The book ‘Gypset Style’ by Julia Chaplin explores the unconventional, wanderlust lives of these high-low cultural nomads and the bohemian enclaves they inhabit, as well as their counterculture forbears, such as the Victorian explorers, the Lost Generation, the Beatniks, and the hippies.”

How did we start?

We were chatting for more than an hour on the phone, lamenting about how much we miss being creative. How our lives have been caught up in everything practical and logical. The Gypsetters Net was born out of our desire to fully embrace the dreamers in us. It’s aspirational, inspirational and a wonderful outlet for us to share our gypsetting experiences and innate wanderlust.

How do we come up with our Gypsetter Guides?

We don’t claim to be the definitive or the exhaustive guide to destinations, in fact, we try to keep things on a very personal level, drawing from our own experiences and research. We also trust our contributors and pre-select them with care. We believe in our instincts and in theirs hoping to share with you a base of recommendations from which you can build your own travel itinerary.

Our policy on endorsing products and establishments

Everything you see on the site is something we both can vouch for, either through experience or by our desires. We do not feature things because we are paid to do so unless otherwise stated as a sponsored post. We also will never post something we do not fully support 100%.

Our site partners are people and products we firmly believe in. We also take the liberty to curate and edit what we feature to suit exactly our needs and desires.

Where do we get our photos?

Our sources vary from our own personal collection, to press releases and kits, to taking them off reputable sites on the web in which case we always place a link back to the original photo and site.

Can we use your photos?

You may most certainly use our photos as long as you link back to our site and the original post.
